In general, people are in big trouble when it comes to their health.   So many life choices can result in positive (or negative) impact.  Our team at The People Builders believe we can postively influence people’s choices by promoting healthy life management.  As a matter of fact, we are compelled to pursue any opportunity to impact the health of others and thwart the heartache of preventable disease.   

We know it can be a challenge these days to eat as healthy as you’d like. When you get to the grocery store you are bombarded by advertising, free samples, and a gazillion choices.

Your mother probably told you never to shop while  hungry.  This is one of the best tips ever shared for controlling your spending and impulse purchases.  What other guidelines help you make wiser choices? 

Here are a few tips my mother never told me!

1.  Eat fresh as much as possible.  Shop the outside aisles of the store.  They contain the fresh fruit, vegetables, and meats.  Eating fresh is always better than processed. 

2.    Get plenty of rest.  According to Don Colbert, MD, author of The Seven Pillars of Health, sleep is one of the building blocks to a healthy life.   From his book, Dr. Colbert states: “A good night’s sleep restores, repairs, and rejuvenates your body.  Sleep is important because it is vital for your immune systems and your overall health.  Sleep also slows down the aging process.  Lack of adequate sleep increases your risk of developing type 2 diabetes as well as a host of other diseases.”    How much is enough?  Seven to nine hours.   

 3.  Drink lots of water.  Most traditional nutritionists suggest you drink 64 ounces daily.  The new recommendation is to drink one half your body weight.  If your weight is more than 128 pounds than you should be consuming more water.    Most hunger pangs come from dehydration rather than true hunger.

·         Act now. Seek needs to fill. Find other quality service providers to work with you that complement your offering. Focus and measure the activities leading to goal achievement. Pursue big things and commit.
